Wednesday Morning Swims

Due to the popularity of the evening swim clinic we are going to be adding another swim onto our expanding workout list. Coach Joanne will be offering a morning swim at the Greenwich Boys and Club beginning Wednesday, January 6th. Classes will be held every Wednesday and begin at 6:30am. The program will run for 10 weeks and will be structured similarly to our existing swim program. Open to all abilities. Cost of program: $125.

GROUP RUN FOR A CAUSE

From Alex Dino, GTC Run Director

I wanted to thank all of you for participating and helping me in various ways with our group run.

I started the SUNDAY TRAINING RUN in spring this year, started out with only few runners. Now we have more than eighty runners on the list and each week it is increasing.

Almost every week someone in the group offers to pay for the water, Gatorade and other supplies that we used during the run, and I keep saying don’t worry about it! I decided that instead of giving me money for the supplies, I am asking you if you would like to donate that money to the charity in Philippines called “BANTAY BATA 163” also known “CHILD WATCH”.

BANTAY BATA 163 is a child welfare program of ABS-CBN Foundation that not only rescues and rehabilitates sick and abused children, but also provides shelter, therapy and quality home care for rescued children until they can be reunited with their families or referred to proper child-caring agencies. BANTAY BATA 163 gives emphasis on the family through the following services: training and advocacy on child abuse prevention, rehabilitation of families in crisis, educational scholarships, livelihood, community outreach and medical and dental missions. The link is below.

Any amount is welcome as a donation and whether small or large, it will really help. There is also a container for donations at the Greenwich Running Company.

Happy Holidays and many thanks to all of you! I look forward to seeing you on our next run.
