Forwarding an important message to improve conditions for non-motorized vehicles (i.e. bikes and pedestrians). Take 2 minutes to send an email to the Appropriations Committee today! - Terry

From the Central Connecticut Bicycle Alliance:

URGENT ACTION ALERT - Contact Legislators Regarding SB 735

S.B.
735, An Act Improving Bicycle and Pedestrian Access, has been sent to
the Appropriations Committee. We anticipate that it will be on the
agenda for Tuesday, May 5th. This is one of the more challenging
committees to successfully pass through, so it's even more important
that we contact the chairs and members. Contact info and sample email
can be found below.

I ask that you support SB 735, An Act Improving Bicycle and Pedestrian Access. This bill, SB735, will insure that going forward, transportation projects in Connecticut consider the needs of all road users, including transit users, bicyclists, and pedestrians. Too often our state's road projects consider motor vehicle traffic only and we are left with a system where walking and bicycling are not an option in many places. This bill will restore equity to our transportation system, recognizing the needs of the estimated 1/3 of the population that does not drive. The bill will also establish a statewide bicycle and pedestrian advisory committee to serve as a permanent advocate for pedestrians and bicyclists.
On behalf of bicyclists and pedestrians throughout central Connecticut, I urge you to move this bill forward. Thank you.
